SAINT ALBANS, VT – U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) hosted a ‘Common Grounds with Senator Welch’ listening session at 14th Star Brewing Co. in Saint Albans City. The Senator joined community members and local leaders to discuss the challenges facing families, farmers, and businesses in Franklin County and how Washington can work better to address them.
“Rural communities like Saint Albans are facing more burdens than ever because of Trump Administration policies, from his disastrous war of choice in Iran to eviscerating the federal workforce. The president’s tariffs hit our farmers, hospitality, and tourism especially hard,” said Senator Welch. “The bottom line here is that we need to make Washington work better for Vermonters. I’ll keep working hard to reverse this administration’s reckless policies and power grabs to protect our democracy and restore the rule of law.”
