Welch Leads Resolution Honoring Life and Legacy of Dr. Jane Goodall

WASHINGTON, D.C.U.S. Senator Peter Welch today led 16 Democratic Senators in introducing a resolution honoring the life, leadership, and legacy of Dr. Jane Goodall, one of the world’s most celebrated ethologists and environmental conservationists.  

The Senators’ resolution pays tribute to Dr. Goodall’s lifelong dedication to global wildlife conservation and advocacy for the survival and ethical treatment of all living things. The resolution also acknowledges her tireless efforts to educate the public and especially children about the importance of working together to protect the natural environment. 

“Dr. Jane Goodall fundamentally changed our understanding of the complex emotional and social behavior of animals, and she inspired generations of people on every continent to become actively involved in environmental conservation,” said Senator Welch. “By honoring her with this resolution, we rededicate ourselves to continuing her remarkable legacy of advocacy for the protection of wildlife and the conservation of nature,”
