BENNINGTON, VT – Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) joined Bennington College for a Town Hall yesterday, highlighting his priorities for the upcoming farm bill, efforts to uplift rural economies, and the work ahead to strengthen and protect our democracy. Moderated by State Sen. Brian Campion, the discussion also covered pressing local issues impacting Vermonters, including affordability challenges, education, mental health, and substance use disorder.  

“I was so happy to join Bennington College for this event,” said Sen. Welch today. “Town Hall events are a critical way for Vermonters to engage in our democracy and make sure their opinions are heard by their representatives in Washington. The Vermonters in attendance last night were thoughtful, empathetic, and active in their communities. It’s an honor to represent them in Washington, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to hear their thoughts on the issues facing our communities.”
