BURLINGTON, VT — U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) today released the following statement on the third anniversary of the October 7th terror attack on Israel:
“Today marks three years since the horrifying attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists, which resulted in the brutal assault, torture, and slaughter of 1,400 Israeli civilians. The October 7th attacks were a heinous crime. I have met with families of victims of that atrocity—their pain and their grief is unimaginable. We will never forget those who were killed that day, the hostages who were tortured and whose lives were lost, and the families and loved ones of victims who are grieving this tragedy.
“Since that day, many Jewish Americans have also felt increasingly unsafe in our own communities. Antisemitism is never acceptable. We will continue to fight for a country where Americans of all faiths are safe.”
